World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS)

WGMS is a service of IACS under the auspices of several organizations (World Data System (WDS/ISC), IUGG/IACS, UNEP, UNESCO and WMO).
Worldwide collection of information about glacier changes was initiated in 1894, with the foundation of the International Glacier Commission (Commission Internationale des Glaciers) at the 6th International Geological Congress in Zurich, Switzerland. Since 1986, WGMS, based in Zurich, has continued to collect and publish standardized information about ongoing glacier changes and distribution.
Check the WGMS homepage for more information.

Since 2019 the IACS homepage is permanently hosted by WGMS and Zurich University.
